Star Wars Actor Diego Luna Says Cassian Andor Series has Already Started Filming

It looks like we finally have some great news about the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story spin-off series. Diego Luna has just confirmed that the Cassian Andor show has already started pre-production.

Luna was recently a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! where the host apologized for calling him so late. After all, it was very late in London. When asked what he was supposed to be working on, Luna claimed it is "a tiny little thing, a short film with some friends." Kimmel immediately stated that it was "for Disney+ and with Lucasfilm involved" and Luna just laughed it off, saying, "they're my friends."

Not surprisingly, Kimmel wanted to learn about this little project. After the host asked a rather confusing question about how Cassian Andor is a "prequel to a prequel but not a sequel to the (Star Wars) prequels," Luna simply stated that the show is "everything you need to know to understand Rogue One" and that it is "the story of the character before" everything that happened in the movie.

For now, we can't really expect Luna to spoil anything about the series. However, it is still exciting to know that the show has finally started production and could be ready to air on Disney+ a lot sooner than we think. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.

The Cassian Andor series has not yet been given an official release date. However, it is already expected to air on Disney+ before the end of 2021.
