Star Wars actor Anthony Daniels has been the iconic face and voice behind the lovable cyborg C-3PO, a character he has played in the franchise since its inception in 1977 and even though the Skywalker saga saw its conclusion last year via The Rise of Skywalker, the Star Wars veteran confidently says that he isn't going to retire his legendary role anytime soon.

In a recent interview with CinemaBlend, Daniels addressed the fate of his iconic character, saying that he'll never retire from the role. "No, I'm never going to retire, they're going to have to throw me out the door. ... Life is not over. The films, they may be for '3PO - certainly taking a backseat for a very, very long time, I would think - but there's all sorts of other media, particularly now with digital formats, that I am so happy and grateful, and proud to be a part of. And I do want to go on looking after '3PO, because, yeah, he needs looking after. There's nobody else on this planet, at the moment."

Despite the fact that Anthony's Star Wars future is currently in doubt, the chances of him returning as C-3PO will never be out of the question especially considering how popular the character is up until today. Now, with Lucasfilm evidently expanding their Star Wars Universe via Disney+, Daniels could potentially return for cameo appearances in future shows or his own spinoff series even but it's all just wishful thinking for now. I mean, you can never say never. We might get it somewhere down the line.

Anthony Daniels will reprise his role as C-3PO in The Lego Star Wars Holiday Special.
