Spider-Man Remastered Officially Changes Face of Peter Parker to Look Like Tom Holland

Besides the release of Spider-Man: Miles Morales for the PS5, Insomniac Games is also looking to release a remaster of their first Spider-Man game for the PS4. We have some new clips from the remastered version, and some fans will be surprised to see that they've changed the face of Peter Parker to look more like Tom Holland.

Check it out:

According to community director James Stevenson, the change wasn't actually made to resemble Holland, but rather actor Yuri Lowenthal who voices Spider-Man in the game. He writes:

"In order to bring the best performances to players with our next-generation Marvel's Spider-Man games, we have recast the face of Peter Parker. We loved working with John Bubniak on the original game; however, to get a better match to Peter Parker/Spider-Man actor Yuri Lowenthal's facial capture, we have cast Ben Jordan to be the face model for Peter Parker on the PS5 console. He looks incredible in-game, and Yuri's moving performances take on a new life."

Admittedly, not too many people are happy with the change. When the game came out, a lot of people were said to have liked the game's version of Peter because he looked like a mix of all the other Spider-Men that have come before. Now we have a face that looks more like the current Spider-Man Holland.

Personally, I thought the original face was kind of off and didn't even look like original actor John Bubniak. Then again, hopefully, Insomniac gives the option to let players change the face to the game's original Peter Parker.

Besides that, here's a look at the game running on 60fps for the PS5:

Spider-Man Remastered launches alongside Spider-Man: Miles Morales on Nov. 12.
