Spider-Man PS4 Gets Prequel Novel and Art Book

There is a lot of anticipation for Insomniac Games' Spider-Man PS4, which comes out this September. From what has been shown thus far, it looks like the game has the potential to be the best Spider-Man title around, along with possibly being the best Marvel title ever made.

Fans curious about the game's fictional history need not worry, as a prequel novel set in the same universe as Spider-Man PS4 is coming out soon. Called Spider-Man: Hostile Takeover, it will be published by Titan Books, with David Liss writing the story that features Kingpin's plan to gain an iron grip on New York City.

As if that wasn't enough reason to get excited, Titan told Polygon that villains like Shocker, Echo, Blood Spider, and more would be appearing in the book. Does this mean we will be seeing these villains pop up in the game as well? Shocker has already appeared in some gameplay trailers, so it will be interesting to see who else is added.

Titan will also release an art book called Marvel's Spider-Man: The Art of the Game. Fans will be able to see a ton of images that lead to the game's creation, as well as unseen pictures that weren't used in the final product.

Spider-Man PS4 comes out on September 7.
