Spider-Man: Homecoming’s Tom Holland Also Wants To Play James Bond Or Batman

It looks like playing Marvel's Spider-Man isn't enough for Tom Holland. Though the young British actor has already been praised as the most comicbook accurate version of Peter Parker in the entire cinematic history of the web-slinging superhero, it seems like the Marvel star isn't limiting himself to one superhero role.

Asked by Spider-Man: Homecoming co-star Zendaya about his vision for his career in the latest issue of Interview magazine, Holland went about listing down all of the goals he'd want to achieve in life like becoming an Academy Award-winning actor in 10 years, and then becoming a director in 20.

"The 20-year goal is to be a film director. The 15-year goal is to win an Oscar. The five-year goal is to just keep enjoying myself. I really am having the time of my life. But as far as my future goes, I want to stretch myself as an actor in a way that Jake Gyllenhaal, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Meryl Streep do. I don't want to be stuck to one character. I think that's what can happen when you take on a superhero movie. So every conversation I have with my agent is, "What have you got for me? What's next? Who can I play?"

When pressed about iconic roles that he wished he would have had played, Holland went straight up that he actually wants to work on James Bond. "Or Maybe I'll do Batman."

Holland is young and full of hope and ambition. Though it's highly unlikely Warner Bros. will favor Holland over Ben Affleck as the Dark Knight in the DCEU anytime soon, Holland could get the part when he gets older and the studios are thinking of rebooting the Batman role. Who knows what the future holds really.

For now, Holland is going to swing into cinemas in his own Marvel standalone feature film, Spider-Man: Homecoming. The film premieres on July 7, 2017.
