Spawn Movie Reboot Moves Forward With Blumhouse Productions

It looks like fans of Image Comic's highly trained assassin Al Simmons are officially getting a new Spawn reboot from Blumhouse studio.

Going live on his Facebook account, Spawn creator Todd McFarlane made the big announcement today during San Diego Comic Con that he had just signed with Jason Blum on the Spawn reboot onThursday.

"No more theoretical. We're now making movies… Spawn. It's coming. Get ready for it. We're going into production. We'll give you all the updates soon"

This is great news for McFarlane and his team. The comicbook writer used to say that Spawn would be a horror-centric film and Blumhouse is a studio known for horror movies like critically acclaimed Get Out,The Belko Experiment, The Purge and of course Paranormal Activity.

According to a report by Comicbook, Blumhouse president Jason Blum has also expressed his belief in McFarlane's directorial skills, saying that after working with quite a number of "visionary directors," he thinks that "Todd's unique artistic talents will only add to his role as director of this film."

McFarlane has already finishing drafting Spawn's new screenplay and the film has been described as a "dark exploration of one of comic's most popular characters." Now with a studio housing McFarlane's project, fans can be assured that the film will come in soon and hopefully, it'll arrive with more finesse than Michael Jai White's 1998 iteration.
