‘Sorry I'm Not J.J. Abrams Mom and Dad!’: Taika Waititi's Hilarious Intro for Home Release of Thor Ragnarok

Taika Waititi's Thor: Ragnarok was one of the most beloved superhero movies of 2017, and with the home release getting close, director Taika Waititi has posted up this hilarious introduction for the film, with him randomly rambling about the movie.

Check it out:

The video has all the trademark Waititi humor in it, jokes with just the right dash of sentiment. You go ‘aww' when he says he wanted to be a filmmaker to impress his parents, then you laugh when he says his parents wanted to have J.J. Abrams for a son instead.

As a fan of Waititi, I honestly preferred his older films as compared to Ragnarok. Don't get me wrong, I thought the movie was funny, but the characters were just a tad more cartoonish and not as sharply written as compared to Hunt for the Wilderpeople or What We do in the Shadows. I mean, Loki was always so calm and collected in previous Thor movies, and in Ragnarok, he was so cartoonishly desperate for self-worship.

Anything else, I'm happy that Waititi was able to place his mark on the MCU, and I can't wait to see what he has in store for the future.

Thor: Ragnarok hits digital Feb. 19 and DVD/Blu-Ray on Feb. 26.
