Solo: A Star Wars Story’s Donald Glover Is Facing A Lawsuit

Donald Glover might have been a pretty easy Star Wars fan-favorite when he appeared in Solo: A Star Wars Story, but it looks like the pop-culture Renaissance Man is having a little trouble with the law lately.

As per TMZ, Glover's record label Glassnote Entertainment Group just recently sued the Solo star for unpaid royalties from streaming. Glassnote takes care of Glover's career as the musician Childish Gambino, and according to the label, while the actor and rapper has been collecting more than $700,000 in revenue for streaming, he hasn't been paying his label at all.

For those who aren't familiar with the label, Glassnote has released all three of the Childish Gambino albums. That includes Awaken, My Love!, Glover's Grammy-winning album from 2016.

The label claims that it already paid Glover more or less $8 million and is expecting to sign another $2 million paycheck to the Childish Gambino in the next three months. That's not all. Glassnote also claims that Glover demanded $1.5 million as a solution to the disputes over the streaming royalties.

While this new report might come as quite a shock to Glover's fans, this dispute over royalties isn't the only time the Star Wars actor and musician's had a bit of trouble. Glover was also recently accused of plagiarizing Jase Harley's American Pharoah in his recent hit single, This is America. However, Childish Gambino's collaborator, Fam Rothstein, denied the accusations.

Glover's Star Wars film, Solo: A Star Wars Story, is currently screening in cinemas.
