Social Justice Warriors Attack Star Wars Social Media Account For Its “Offensive” Tweet

After reawakening the Star Wars saga with a sequel trilogy, Lucasfilm's franchise from a galaxy far, far away remains as one of the biggest science fiction franchises in Hollywood. With countless numbers of fans, posts from the official Star Wars Twitter account become quite viral easily.

Keeping netizens entertained while waiting for the next sequel trilogy installment, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the official Star Wars Twitter account has been busy posting a number of general Star Wars factoids. However, one of these posts has sparked outrage from social justice warriors with many lashing out against a seemingly anodyne post. Sharing an image and factiod about C-3PO from the official Star Wars Galactic Guide, the Star Wars Twitter account has been under fire for playfully caption the photo with the word "Triggered."

Perceiving the caption as insult towards individuals suffering with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, SJW netizens (who probably aren't even familiar with the Star Wars franchise) began lashing out at the post, calling for an apology and the termination of the franchise's social media manager.

The word "Trigger" has become a common term on the internet to mean the start of outrage, however many social justice warriors find the word as an offense to those with PTSD who have to deal with different triggers that result into a lapse into a state of heightened anxiety, agitation and even memory loss.

While it can be argued that the official Star Wars Twitter account did not intend to offend anyone with its "Triggered" post, the social media manager of the site decided to take down the post instead before causing any more controversy.
