Snyder Shares New Photo of Henry Cavill in Classic Superman Suit

Henry Cavill had celebrated his birthday on May 5, and Man of Steel director Zack Snyder had decided to share this cool image of Cavill wearing the classic Christopher Reeve era Superman suit.

Snyder shared this image on Vero (via ScreenRant):

Like Snyder said, this was the shot that got the higher-ups to agree to let him cast Cavill as Superman. Though Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and Justice League were divisive when they came out, one thing was certain: Cavill makes a wonderful last son of Krypton.

So far, Cavill has not been shy about renewing his contract with the DCEU. Though we don't know when we're going to get the next Superman film, there have been rumors going around that Cavill will appear as the Man of Steel in 2019's Shazam! starring Zachary Levi as Captain Marvel.

As for the Man of Steel sequel, we don't know if Snyder will ever be involved, but one top choice to direct is Kingsman helmer Matthew Vaughn. Vaughn has done some great work with comic book films like Kickass and X-Men: First Class, but it's his eye for color that fans want to see with a Superman that has usually been portrayed in gray and muted colors.

No release date has been set for the Man of Steel sequel.
