SNL Star Joins Star Wars: Resistance

It looks like The Resistance might have recruited its funniest member yet. Saturday Night Live performer Bobby Moynihan has joined the cast of Star Wars: Resistance, the newest animated series set in the Star Wars canon. Moynihan's role hasn't been revealed yet, so it might be too early to assume that he's on the side of good.

The news was confirmed by The Star Wars Show, where Moynihan talked about how excited he was for the series. Again, he did not say who he would be and it seems like we will have to wait for more news about Resistance before we get anything concrete. Still, this should be a good pick and it will be interesting to see who he plays as.

Moynihan has done some good work on SNL, so when he left the sketch show last year fans were surprised. He is now in the CBS comedy Me, Myself & I, so fans interested in seeing his work can check him out there.

The rest of the cast includes Christopher Sean, Suzie McGrath, Scott Lawrence, Josh Brener, Donald Faison, Myrna Velasco, Rachel Butera, and Jim Rash. Actors Oscar Isaac and Gwendoline Christie are also said to be providing the voices for their characters Poe and Phasma in the show.

No release date has been announced for Star Wars: Resistance.
