Shazam!'s Adam Brody Was Almost The Flash for Justice League: Mortal

Adam Brody plays the grown-up version of Freddy Freeman in Shazam! but did you know that he was almost the Fastest Man Alive at one point?

Talking to Yahoo! Entertainment, Brody talks a bit about landing the Flash role for George Miller's Justice League: Mortal, and he laments on not being able to play the role onscreen. Brody explains, "In hindsight, I should've been more bummed [at the time… I really liked it. But I just kind of felt like, 'No big deal. The next thing will come.' And it kind of did, but it kind of didn't. But nothing like that came along again."

At this time, Brody says that he regrets not having the chance to work with Miller after seeing Mad Max: Fury Road. At the time of JLM, Miller hadn't worked on a live-action film in a while, that's why Brody didn't feel too bad about not playing the part. Now he says he feels like he missed out on what could have been a cinematic classic.

For now, Brody is part of the DCEU as a supporting character in Shazam!. We don't really know where the Shazam Family is going to go moving forward, but Brody did have this to say about the script: "I've heard enthusiastic rumblings and more so… I definitely don't know anything official. But I would say that it seems likely and warranted, and I'm very excited. Hope we do."

No release date has been set for the Shazam! sequel.
