Shazam!: Zachary Levi on Billy Batson Eventually Joining the Justice League

While the DCEU is currently working on peddling their Aquaman movie, early next year will see the release of Shazam! starring Zachary Levi as the next hero in the roster. We don't know when the next Justice League will take palce, but Levi is almost certain that his character is going to be part of the team-up.

Talking to ET, Levi shared that he is absolutely looking forward to working with the rest of the DCEU, and he's just imagining how the young Billy Batson is going to react going face to face with the likes of Wonder Woman or Batman. He shares:

"I'm a 14-year-old and we've got Wonder Woman there and just having a total crush... Like, how do you act cool when you're crushing on the most beautiful woman in the world who also happens to be a goddess? And trying to act cool around Superman and Batman and all that stuff? I mean, my brain was just immediately going to all those possibilities cause I think it would be a whole lot of fun."

In the comics, Captain Marvel/Shazam was actually a member of the Justice Society of America (JSA), but seeing that the hero roster is already spread thin for the DCEU, they might be going for a change and ranking Billy Batson along with the Justice League.

After the disappointment of JL last year, it looks like DC is seriously considering their next approach when it comes to building their cinematic universe. A lot of projects had been put on hold, but at the same time, some are just starting to pick off steam. Though I hate to wait, I think it will be worth it as long as the DCEU manages to get itself back on track.

Catch Shazam! in theaters April 5, 2019.
