Shazam Home Release Will Have 20 Minutes of Alternate and Deleted Scenes

Shazam continued the momentum of Aquaman and was a solid superhero movie that plenty of fans enjoyed, regardless if they were pro-Marvel or pro-DC. While the movie wasn't perfect, it did pique fan interest and has a lot of people curious about a sequel, especially since Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is expected to be Black Adam.

The movie will be coming to digital and Blu-Ray soon, and fans are curious about what kind of extras we're going to get. Well, speaking with Collider, director David F. Sandberg revealed that we are getting 20 minutes worth of alternate and deleted scenes, which has a lot of appeal for fans. These home releases always show us what could have been during the production process and it's why fans still buy movies after paying to watch them for the first time.

"It's something like 15 scenes if it all made it on there. I think it's 20+ min in length but there's stuff repeated from the movie to give context. Also, a lot of it are alternate scenes so it's not like you could make a 20-minute longer version of the film."

Fans expecting a director's cut of this movie are going to be disappointed but it could have been worse. Some movies don't even have these kinds of extras so it's better than nothing. Plus, this isn't a Batman V Superman situation where fans are begging to see the extra content that was cut.

Shazam cuts to digital HD on July 2 and will get a Blu-Ray release later that month.
