Shaman King is based on a 1998-2004 shonen manga. As is the case with many popular works, the manga received an anime adaptation while still ongoing, meaning that the ending the creators intended for us never made it to our screens. Instead, the reboot is faithful to the manga.
Shaman King follows Yoh Asakura, who fights to become the best among shamans an all-powerful being with the ability to summon spirits and manipulate the world according to their will. To achieve his dream, Yoh must come out victorious in a competition that only takes place once every 500 years.
Episode 51 is interesting not only because of the action, but also due to its depiction of Hao and Yoh's complex relationship. Other characters also got their chance to shine, and fans of the show will be sad to bid them farewell next week.

The official release date for Shaman King Episode 52, titled "God End", is Thursday, April 21, 2022. For the time being, the newest episode will only be available on Netflix in Japan and BiliBili in China.
