Shaman King (2021) Overview and Episode 50 Highlights
Shaman King is based on a 1998-2004 shonen manga. As is the case with many popular works, the manga received an anime adaptation while still ongoing, meaning that the ending the creators intended for us never made it to our screens. Instead, the reboot is faithful to the manga.
Shaman King follows Yoh Asakura, who fights to become the best among shamans an all-powerful being with the ability to summon spirits and manipulate the world according to their will. To achieve his dream, Yoh must come out victorious in a competition that only takes place once every 500 years.
At this point, we're well into the Shaman fight, and unless you've read the manga, it might be hard to predict the result!
Episode 50 was thought by some viewers to have struck the right balance between goofy and awesome, though others thought that, once again, the resolution of the Plant battle was rushed and a bit too easy for a semi-final.
Will anything change with the last battle of the next episode? Most viewers doubt that, given that there are only two episodes left, but we'll have to wait and see!

The official release date for Shaman King Episode 51, titled "Last Test Shaman Fight", is Thursday, April 14, 2022. For the time being, the newest episode will only be available on Netflix Japan and BiliBili in China.
Since January 2022, fans worldwide can watch episodes 14-38 on Netflix. We hope that the next and final batch will follow in due course, presumably in the next couple of months.
