Scarlett Johansson Says Black Widow is a Standalone MCU Franchise with Florence Pugh

It's no secret that Black Widow is one of the most highly anticipated films of the year but what exactly can fans look forward to in the Marvel Cinematic Universe flick? Scarlett Johansson has just stated that the upcoming movie is actually a "standalone franchise" that would focus on her character and Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova.

A clip of Johansson talking about the project has just been shared on Twitter and it features the Jojo Rabbit star stating that the movie is more than just a movie. Check it out below.

"I am very excited about Florence Pugh. She is my co-star in the Black Widow standalone franchise, and I'm, you know, like learning from her," Johansson said.

Of course, there is still a possibility that Johansson used the wrong term to describe Black Widow. She may have been trying to state that the film is actually standalone in the Marvel franchise but that hasn't stopped fans from speculating that Johansson and Pugh will be back for another Black Widow movie.

Black Widow is set to be Johansson's last film as Natasha Romanoff considering that the character has already been killed off in Avengers: Endgame. Nevertheless, people are still hoping that we'll be seeing more of Nat in the future. For now, it's too early to tell if there will be more MCU flicks starring Johansson. We'll have to wait for an official announcement in the future.

Black Widow is currently scheduled for release on November 6.
