Ron Howard Announces Han Solo’s Official Title

Ron Howard's finally finished production on Han Solo and it looks like the spinoff's new director has a special treat for Star Wars fans.

Taking to Twitter to announce the end of Han Solo's principal photography, Howard posted a special video message revealing the spinoff's official title – Solo: A Star Wars Story.

"Hi. Well, as we wrap up production I just wanted to take this moment to thank an incredibly talented cast and crew for all their hard work," the director starts off in the video. "And to the fans out there, I hope you've enjoyed the pictures that I've been sharing, pictures I've been taking from the set of-"

Howard then pauses, turning off screen to ask someone on set, "Can we even say the name of the movie?

Coming up screen, a Wookie walks up to hand Howard the title card for the film, reading, Solo: A Star Wars Story.

"I'll see you next year," Howard ends the video.

It looks like those Solo behind-the-scenes shirts were right. Back in July, Solo star Woody Harrelson posted a photo of himself wearing a BTS shirt of the film production under the working title, Solo. Given that Rogue One ended up having the subtitle A Star Wars Story, fans guessed that a title like Solo: A Star Wars Story would be likely.

Solo: A Star Wars Story is scheduled to release on May 25, 2018.
