Rey Masters the Jedi Mind Trick in Latest Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker TV Spot

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is a couple of weeks away from premiering and fans are pretty hyped about it, for obvious reasons. Disney and Lucasfilm have capitalized on all this hype by releasing a number of tv spots recently, slowly revealing more footage from the film. Their latest teaser, called "Hold On" shows us how Rey's training has paid off since she uses the Jedi mind trick on two stormtroopers with ease.

This also leads to Poe Dameron wondering if Rey has used that same trick on him and Finn, which is amusing. Some fans might not enjoy the joke since they make these movies feel a bit like Marvel, forgetting that earlier Star Wars films always had moments of humor. They probably just want to hate on the current Star Wars trilogy, due to The Last Jedi.

Rey did use the Jedi mind trick during The Force Awakens, manipulating a stormtrooper into letting her go from Kylo Ren's interrogation room. It was a fun moment and one that hinted at her eventual fate of being an awesome Jedi, which should be used really well in this movie. The Rise of Skywalker is expected to be the culmination of this whole trilogy after all.

Fans are pretty curious about the fate of Rey, especially since one trailer showed us a version of the character corrupted by the Dark Side. We'll see how long it takes to corrupt Rey, assuming that even happens, and it should get people interested in how this film ends.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker comes out on December 20.
