Ready Player One Featurette: See the Future

There are a lot of movies to look forward to this year, and one of them is Steven Spielberg's adaptation of Ready Player One. Warner Bros has released a new featurette for the film, and it gives us a new look at the future and the OASIS.

We get interviews from both author Ernest Cline and Steven Spielberg. Seeing that the movie is a love letter to all-things 80s, Spielberg is probably the perfect choice to have the book adapted. Cline did say in the video that he grew up watching all of Spielberg's movies.

Here's an official description for the movie:

The film is set in 2045, with the world on the brink of chaos and collapse. But the people have found salvation in the OASIS, an expansive virtual reality universe created by the brilliant and eccentric James Halliday (Mark Rylance). When Halliday dies, he leaves his immense fortune to the first person to find a digital Easter egg he has hidden somewhere in the OASIS, sparking a contest that grips the entire world. When an unlikely young hero named Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan) decides to join the contest, he is hurled into a breakneck, reality-bending treasure hunt through a fantastical universe of mystery, discovery and danger.

Besides having Spielberg in the director's chair, the movie has assembled quite an impressive cast. Besides Tye Sheridan playing the lead, you also get the likes of Ben Mendelsohn, T.J. Miller, and Simon Pegg in the movie as well.

Ready Player One is set to come out March 30.
