Read Joss Whedon's Full Script For His Cancelled Wonder Woman Project!

Before he was attached to direct the first Avengers movie, Joss Whedon was working on a Wonder Woman film in the early 2000s before the project was eventually dropped. The full script for the Whedon's version of Wonder Woman has been leaked online, and fans can all check out what could have been.

You can read the entire script here at Indie Ground Films.

First thing that people will notice is that this isn't a period piece and it will take place in the present day. What's more, instead of Ares, Diana will be going against Goddess of Chaos Strife, and she will also have a more antagonistic relationship towards her mother Hippolyta.

Whedon was said to have worked on the project for two years before he quit, citing that the studio wouldn't give him a proper budget and they also had clashing opinions on the movie.

Fast forward 11 years, and Joss Whedon is one of the biggest names in comic book movies; he's also attached to direct a standalone Batgirl movie. Though we may never get to see Whedon's version of Wonder Woman, I'm still very eager to see what Patty Jenkins has in store for the character. After all, shouldn't a woman be in charge of the first modern superhero movie lead by a female? We already have Whedon to thank for Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Patty Jenkins' Wonder Woman hits theaters June 2.
