R2-D2 And Chewbacca Reportedly Get Cute New Friends In Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Lucasfilm may try to keep Star Wars: The Last Jedi under tight wraps while fans wait for more info on the sequel trilogy installment at this year's D23, however it seems details regarding The Force Awakens sequel continue to leak out into the internet.

One of these leaks includes a rumor involving one of the franchise's most well-loved characters – R2D2. Fans who've seen The Force Awakens may remember that the droid wakes up after Daisy Ridley's Rey and the rest of the Resistance came back from their mission destroying the First Order's Starkiller Base.

Now, with R2D2 up and about to go on all sorts of trips in The Last Jedi, Making Star Wars reports that the classic droid will be meeting some of Luke Skywalker's (Mark Hamill) friends on Ahch-To.

According to the site, a source has told them that these sacred Force-sensitive birds are going to have some interaction with R2D2 and Chewbacca on Luke's secret hide out before things start to heat up on the planet. Twelve recently hatched Porgs are going to play around with Chewy and R2 in one of the scnes in The Last Jedi and apparently:

"There is a moment in The Last Jedi where one of the porgs lands on Artoo's head and it is absolutely adorable."

While fans do love the space fights and the lightsaber battles in the Star Wars franchise, we all admit that we're suckers for cute and funny moments in any Star Wars movie.
