Power Rangers’ Bryan Cranston Hints at What It’s Like to be Zordon

The voice of Zordon has spoken, and from what fans know, it will be none other than Bryan Cranston. While we're all waiting until Power Rangers is finally released in theaters, Cranston shares a little of what we can expect from his character.

Speaking to IGN, the Breaking Bad star hinted that his version of Cranston is one who may be doling out some tough love—because, well, what can you do with a handful of teenagers? Cranston shares that, if he were to describe Zordon, it would have to be as a frustrated mentor to the five Power Rangers.

"They're not advancing as I'd hoped. Some of them are not taking this seriously, the responsibility that has been placed upon them or that they have been chosen for. And yet, you're a mentor. It's almost like being a coach. You want to break down the individuality of them so that they can grow as a team."

From the looks of it, we'll be seeing an almost coming of age—or should I say coming into power—of the five teenagers who are struggling with the responsibility. It's pretty much a standard fare for superhero movie beginnings, perhaps with a more modern twist from what we know of the Power Rangers.

At the very least, we can expect that what Power Rangers is so far has impressed Cranston himself. He revealed to The AV Club that he has quite the knowledge of how the movie actually is. That's because he has already seen a good deal of the movie thanks to ADR, and claims that it is a going to be a big deal.

"It's impressive. Deal Israelite really has a nice touch. As big and as powerful as Power Rangers could be, he has a nice touch to keep it grounded, and real. I think it's gonna turn some heads, I really do."

Power Rangers will be out in theaters on March 23.
