Pokken Tournament DX Gets Online Team Battles Via Free Update

Pokken Tournament DX has been a good time for fighting game fans with a Nintendo Switch, thanks to the new characters that were not in the Wii U original. Originally, fans weren't a fan of the limited online options, though Nintendo promised to update that eventually. That day is coming soon, as the company has announced that a free update will be adding Online Team Battle to the game.

Online Team Battle is self-explanatory. Players form a team of their favorite Pokemon and duke it out with an opponent's team. Nintendo has also confirmed that Official Groups will be open in the Online Group Match mode coming out sometime after the aforementioned update. Fans will also get the ability to record training sessions to share online and various gameplay improvements.

Here are the new additions detailed by Nintendo (via Gematsu):

Online Team Battles – Team Battles will be available to play with friends online. Pick three Pokémon each and head into battle to enjoy heated fights with other players.
Official Groups in Group Match – Official groups from Pokkén Tournament DX will be open in the Group Match online battle mode. Coming soon after the update, there will be official Group Matches where players can battle to receive new special titles.
Record Pokemon Movements – In Practice Mode's Free Training, a new function to record Pokemon movements in battle will be added. You'll be able to control the opposing Pokemon and record its movements so you can play them back when you're training to help improve your skills.
Enhanced Experience – Several other adjustments are in development which will help to improve gameplay.

Pokken Tournament DX is available now on the Nintendo Switch. No release date for the update has been given, though it will be coming to the system soon.
