Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee Will Have Limited Online Features

It might not be the next core game in the series, but there is still plenty of hype surrounding Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee. The fact that it mixes elements from both Pokemon GO and the original games is fairly intriguing, with many hoping that impressions of the playable demos from E3 are positive.

Recently, it was announced that the game would have some form of online functionality, which got fans excited. Previous announcements downplayed this since 2019's core game will have a much more comprehensive online experience. After this update from Game Informer, it's easy to see why that is.

According to the game's developers, Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee will only have online battles and trading. Recent features like Wonder Trade or the Global Trade System (GTS) will not be implemented. As if that wasn't limited enough, fans will need to subscribe to the Nintendo Switch Online membership, which starts this September.

While limited, it's already more than what Pokemon GO is currently offering to trainers. Fans of the mobile game have wanted PVP for quite some time and still haven't gotten a proper version of it. Plus, some would argue that the limited online features is an homage to Pokemon Yellow since players could only trade and battle at the time via a link cable.

Pokemon Let's Go! Pikachu and Let's Go! Eevee come out on November 16. The two games will be playable on the Nintendo Switch.
