Pokemon Anime Gives Us Our First Look at Sword and Shield's Eternatus

The new Pokemon anime, called Pokemon: The Series, has been more interesting than most since it actually has Ash and his friend Go travel around the world, interacting with the various Pokemon from different regions. In previous seasons, Ash just stays in one region, interacts with the Pokemon there, and then challenges for the Pokemon League, usually losing, though he did win the Alola League during Sun and Moon.

Anyway, the best part about Pokemon: The Series is the variety since we won't know what creatures they'll interact with until the episode airs. Ash even caught a Dragonite! In the most recent episode, fans were in for a shock as we got our first look at Sword and Shield legendary Pokemon Eternatus, who looks amazing in anime form.

Eternatus appears at the end of Pokemon Sword and Shield as a sort of final boss. He is the Pokemon summoned by Chairman Rose as an attempt to save Galar, though that ends up being a failure. Thankfully, the player and rival Hop managed to take down Eternatus with the help of other Legendary Pokemon, Zamazenta and Zacian. In the end, players catch Eternitus, making it the first Legendary Pokemon that we're "forced" to catch.

Currently, The Pokemon Company has yet to bring Pokemon: The Series to the West as they try to finish all the episodes of Sun and Moon. Expect an English dub sometime this year.
