Oscar Isaac Talks Poe Dameron’s Dilemma In Star Wars: The Last Jedi

We know that Finn and Rey are the main characters of the Star Wars sequel trilogy, but we also have a fantastic supporting character in the form of Oscar Isaac's Poe Dameron. Dameron is said to be going through his own conflict in The Last Jedi, and he's going to butt heads with Laura Dern's Admiral Holdo.

In an interview with ScreenRant, Oscar Isaac explained:

"Well, the one thing that he knows how to do gets taken away from him. Which is, you know, getting his X-Wing and going out there and fighting. And so, he finds himself in a situation that's very frustrating because he wants to help but doesn't know how he's going to do it and on top of that he gets a new boss played by the wonderful, exquisite, Laura Dern…and so there's a lot of friction there because there are things that he wants to do. The way he wants to attack. The way he wants to resist is not the way that seems to be the wisest way to resist, or at least not from Admiral Holdo's point of view…And so, that's his basic conflict there. How can you put those two ideas together to fight but also to survive?"

The trailers do show Poe's X-Wing blowing up, so I guess we'll be watching Poe try to find some other way to be useful after the First Order attacks. After the first movie, I'm excited to see some more space battle action. Maybe Poe can get his hands on a new ship by the end of the film?

Besides Poe, we actually get some more description for Laura Dern's Admiral Holdo. We know that she's part of the Resistance, but it's being said that her ways of getting things done are going to contrast with that of General Leia's. I'm curious if we're going to see her in Episode IX as well.

Catch Poe Dameron and Admiral Holdo in Star Wars: The Last Jedi which hits theaters Dec. 15.
