Original Ghostbusters Stars Respond To The New Trailer For Ghostbusters 3

Columbia Pictures surprised Ghostbusters fans yesterday. Not only did Jason Reitman, the son of Ivan Reitman who was the director of the original Ghostbusters movie, announce a Ghostbusters movie set in the universe of the original franchise, but the studio also dropped a dark and thrilling new teaser to go with the post.

Though the trailer didn't give away too many details about Ghostbusters 3, fans couldn't help but feel excited about the project. Turns out they weren't the only ones. Two out of the four original Ghostbusters couldn't help but share the teaser for Ghostbusters 3 on social media, referencing the original films' best lines like with the famous slogan "Who ya gonna call" and the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man that fans got to see in Ghostbusters II.

"If you need a tune-up, you know who to call," Dan Aykroyd wrote on his post on Twitter, sharing the teaser for Ghostbusters 3.

"This is bigger than a hundred-foot marshmallow man," Ernie Hudson's caption reads.

For those reading this article who haven't seen the original Ghostbusters films (which we highly doubt), Aykroyd plays the part of Raymond "Ray" Stantz, Hudson plays Winston Zeddemore, Billy Murray plays Peter Venkman, and Harold Ramis plays Egon Spengler. The four made the original Ghostbusters, and while Ramis has long since passed away, many are hoping to see the others in Reitman's new Ghostbusters movie.

Word might have it that the main characters of Ghostbusters 3 are going to be four teenagers, we wouldn't rule out cameo appearances featuring the original Ghostbusters' surviving cast.

Ghostbusters 3 has yet to receive a release date but we'll update everyone as soon as we get word.
