To recap Chapter 1,017, Tama has finally given the command to everyone on Kaido's side who ate her dango to switch to the samurai side, resulting in chaos all over Onigashima. As Queen was about to attack Tama, Sanji intervenes. It turns out Queen was part of Vinsmoke Judge's research team called Mads. He reveals he's a cyborg and changes into a man-beast form.

Chopper's rumble ball side effect started making him talk like an old man. The Minks administer their special medicine to Zoro, which is supposed to greatly heal him temporarily—but will make him suffer twice the pain later on.

Who's Who uses fighting techniques on Jinbei used by CP9, revealing that he was once a CP9 agent but was imprisoned for failing to take care of the Gomu Gomu no Mi.

Due to the order given by Tama, she becomes the target for Kaido's men. However, the Gifters are there to protect her. Tama, Nami, and Usopp ride on Speed's back. Zeus is happy after Nami tells him that they're companions now. CP0 looks at the sudden change of the battle again, and they also talk about Who's Who.

The battle between Jinbei and Who's Who continues. Who's Who is not only angry at Shanks for stealing the Gomu Gomu no Mi, but he's also angry at Luffy for wearing Shanks' hat. Jinbei and Who's Who fight by using a series of moves on each other, including a new technique from Jinbei.

While he was in prison, Who's Who heard a story from one of the guards who was related to slaves. It was about a warrior Sun God called Nika. Who's Who broke out of prison after finding out that the guard who told him the story disappeared, just in case. He asks Jinbei if he was familiar with the story considering he came from a crew of former slaves. Jinbei attacks with a different technique, but it's not sure if Who's Who was defeated.

One Piece will be on break next week. Chapter 1,019 will be released nearing the manga's 24th-anniversary celebration.
