‘Offshore Life Meets Star Wars’: Photographer Captures Crossover In Flawless Photos

Ever wonder how the Star Wars Universe would look like if it were set on hard and industrial backdrops? Some of you may have, but for those who haven’t thought of the setting yet, a photographer named Craig Mann has created such photos that will take your breath away.

Mann is spending one half of his 2016 on an Atlantic drilling rig. He then became inspired to mix his worksite photos with some of the characters in the Star Wars Universe because, why not?

The results? Absolutely awesome.

Here’s some general shots of the would-be universe.

Asked how he came about the idea, Mann told Bored Panda:

Photography has always been a great passion of mine. The only problem has been that I spend 6 months in total of each year working on a drilling rig in the harsh Atlantic ocean. During this time, I don’t take it to work and I spend too much time thinking about what I would like to take photos of when I’m home.
After nearly 5 years of working onboard, I finally decided to take my camera to work and make use of time I would have previously considered lost. I decided to take images from several work spaces and mix them with Star Wars.

Mann added that after he finally decided on what scenes he wanted to use from the film, he then spent his time digitally mixing them with his oil-rig photos.

The Force is definitely strong with Mann. Every photo appears real AF. I wonder if he’ll come up with more of those kinds of images. If Rian Johnson ever decides to get ideas of an industrial setting for Star Wars Episode VIII, the director doesn't need to look in a galaxy far, far away.
