Niantic Teases The Addition of Legendary Pokemon In Pokemon Go This Summer

It looks like Pokemon Go's finally going to spawn Legendary Pokemon this summer.

Niantic has slowly been rolling out significant Pokemon Go updates ever since the augmented gaming app reached a sharp decline in the number of active users a number of months after its release. Many complained about the limited features of the app, calling the developer to allow actual Pokemon battles, gym badge collection, and of course the addition of more Pokemon.

The company has slowly been adding tweaks to make Pokemon Go more enjoyable for players, and it seems like the company is planning to add Legendary Pokemon in its roster this summer.

Accepting the "Best Mobile Game" award at the 21st Annual Webby Awards, Niantic's Global Marketing Lead Archit Bhargava gave a speech teasing the roll out of Legendary Pokemon saying that "this summer will be legendary."

Bhargave hasn't announced any specific release date for the highly anticipated Legendary Pokemon Go update, however it's pretty certain that gamers will finally get to see some Legendary Pokemon spawning around the place in the coming months. With Pokemon Go's anniversary coming up pretty soon, it's likely that Niantic will host a special Legendary event for the augmented gaming app early in July.
