New Venom Featurette Shows Epic Symbiote-Vs-Symbiote Battle Against Riot

Venom is less than two weeks away from its premiere, and it looks like Sony is giving the film's marketing campaign a solid push, rolling out new TV spots and featurettes to help add to the hype.

One of the most recently released videos promoting the upcoming Sony comic book movie certainly does its best pumping up excitement, giving fans their best glimpse at Tom Hardy's Eddie Brock fighting off the rival symbiote Riot.

You can check out the featurette in the video above.

For those who aren't that familiar with Riot, the Symbiote character comes from the alien creature Venom itself. The original Symbiote was forced through a procedure where a number of "offspring" was extracted from its being and then artificially aged so that it would reach maturity. Trevor Cole, a volunteer, and mercenary for the Life Foundation (the organization that was preparing for the Mutually Assured Destruction of the Cold War) was picked from the company's security to pair up with one of these "offspring" Symbiotes.

Riot's origin in Venom, however, is going to be a little bit different. Instead of Trevor Cole, Riot is created when the head of the Life Foundation, Dr. Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed from Rogue One: A Star Wars Story0 decided to merge with his own Symbiote. After creating his very own hybrid monster, Riot and Venom go on a "big boss battle" in an epic and nasty symbiote versus symbiote fight.

It's definitely going to be a wild ride. Spider-Man and Symbiote fans are definitely going to love all the slicing and ripping that's going to go down in Venom.

Venom hits cinemas October 5, 2018.
