New Star Wars: Episode IX Set Photos Show What Might Be The Resistance’s Hideout

Lucasfilm might be trying its best to keep Star Wars: Episode IX's secrets close to its chest, but with the film currently in production, images and videos continue to make its way out of the projects set and on to servers online. The newest photo that's managed to head on out to the internet shows a peculiar jungle location, and in it, we get to see what looks like the ruins of an ancient civilization.

Star Wars News Net just recently came across a new set photo taken from Episode IX, and in it, we get to see a brand new set being built on a sound stage. On the set are remnants of stone buildings dramatically covered in moss and vines. Though the set doesn't seem to be completed, the image gives fans an inside look at a new setting for the sequel to The Last Jedi.

Though the photo doesn't really tell us much about what might happen in Episode IX we could probably make a few inferences based on the leaked image. Showing us ruined debris, the jungle set could very well be the setting for the Resistance's new base. After all, the Resistance is going to need a new home after the events of The Last Jedi. What better location to hide from the First Order than in the middle of a jungle, yes?

If not, it could be the remains of a Jedi temple. Rey (Daisy Ridley) might want to complete her training.

What do you think the jungle ruins could be? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section below.

Star Wars: Episode IX hits cinemas December 20, 2019.
