New Searchlight Pictures Logo Revealed in Trailer for Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch

Disney is pushing forward with their rebranding of the Fox properties, and after the debt of 20th Century Studios' logo, we now have the logo for Searchlight Pictures—and it comes with the first trailer for Wes Anderson's The French Dispatch.

Here's a look at the logo:

While some may think that Disney dropping the Fox brand is another sign of them taking over Hollywood, some suggest that this move was done to further distance the studios from the controversy that Fox snagged during the rise of the #MeToo Movement. If anything, Disney is still paying some respect to the prestige of the studios, keeping most of the original elements of the brand logos, literally just removing "Fox".

As for Wes Anderson's next film, I admit it is probably the most "Wes Anderson" of his movies yet. You have his signature framing for all the shots, and it includes a lot of Anderson mainstays like Bill Murray, Adrian Brody, and Tilda Swinton. He even kept the aspect ratio that he used in The Grand Budapest Hotel.

Here's the description:

THE FRENCH DISPATCH brings to life a collection of stories from the final issue of an American magazine published in a fictional 20th-century French city. It stars Benicio del Toro, Adrien Brody, Tilda Swinton, Léa Seydoux, Frances McDormand, Timothée Chalamet, Lyna Khoudri, Jeffrey Wright, Mathieu Amalric, Stephen Park, Bill Murray, and Owen Wilson.

The French Dispatch is set for a release on July 24.
