New Rogue One: A Star Wars Story TV Spot Features Darth Vader's Iconic Breathing

Now that tickets for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story are available (and expect them to sell out quick), we know that we are in the home stretch for the Gareth Edwards-directed film. The new spot shows bits of new footage, including a look at a familiar imperial officer. The 30-second spot is reminicent of the Attack of the Clones teaser in that it features Darth Vader's iconic breathing. Watch the TV spot below:

The imperial officer in the five-second mark resembles Grand Moff Tarkin, who's been long rumored to be in the film and who's been a part of the backstory for Ben Mendelsohn's Orson Krennic. We also see a shot of Forest Whitaker's Saw Gerrera and the rebel operative Pau in action. The film clearly looks intense. You can sense the struggle of the underdog Rebels in these TV spots, and I can't wait to see their inspiring story when the film hits theaters on December 16.

From Lucasfilm comes the first of the Star Wars standalone films, “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” an all-new epic adventure. In a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire’s ultimate weapon of destruction. This key event in the Star Wars timeline brings together ordinary people who choose to do extraordinary things, and in doing so, become part of something greater than themselves.
