New Mutants Enters Final Week Of Shooting

There is a lot of excitement over the upcoming New Mutants film, a spinoff from the X-Men movies. While the continuity of the film's universe needs some focus, it will be good seeing characters not named Xavier, Magneto or Wolverine in the spotlight. It looks like the film is almost done too, so we could be seeing these new characters sooner or later.

Josh Boone, the film's director, went to Instagram to show off his clapper for the film, while also writing "last week shooting." This likely means that the shooting aspect of the movie is almost done, so we can only hope that they do a good job. Also worth noting is the classic New Mutants logo seen in the clapper, although that doesn't mean it will use the same logo, it's nice seeing an homage from the source material.

Boone's post also contradicts previous statements that claimed that the film had wrapped up production. Still, the fact that the crew is in their last week shows that the movie could be done sooner than expected. It might not be as fast as the recent production for Deadpool 2, but it's still noteworthy.

New Mutants is slated for a April 13, 2018 release. The film will be based on the iconic Demon Bear Saga, which sounds silly, but is actually one of the best tales featuring the team.
