Sheared, but not withered - Rapunzel's long, flowing golden hair will regrow to haunt her and her motley crew of characters, as revelaed by Disney's recently released trailer of Tangled: Before Ever After. This animated movie sequel following the feisty heroine's (Mandy Moore) romantic dalliance with Eugene (Zachary Levi) will premiere on the Disney Channel in March, to be followed by a continuing series called Tangled: The Series.
This Disney original movie, a historic first that will launch a series on the network, happens after the first Tangled movie in 2010, and before the first sequel Tangled Ever After in 2012.
Entertainment Weekly further reports a new addition to the cast: the equally tough, smart Cassandra who's Rapunzel's closest friend, ally, and girl Friday. Broadway luminary Eden Espinosa voices the part. Think Arya Stark, not Sansa - and Cassandra will need all that attitude to make that magical, equally stubborn hair get in line. To say that its return will upset Eugene is an understatement. Smart frog Pascal and perpetually-confused steed Maximus will also try to lend their hands (or hooves or limbs), which should get everything - and not just the hair - get all tangled back again.
