New Birds of Prey Trailer Debuts During The Game Awards

This year's Game Awards was a weird beast, still mostly focusing on video games but also trying to appeal to the mainstream. Video games are pretty mainstream these days, we get that, but that doesn't mean we want to see messages from The Rock and Jack Black or a new Fast and Furious video game. That being said, if you're a fan of superhero movies, you probably enjoyed the brief trailer of Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).

After a brief skit, we got to see about 30 seconds of new footage from the movie, which was a nice treat. While we don't get to see Ewan McGregor wearing Black Mask's black mask, we do get a brief look at Victor Zsasz and some of the other Birds preying on criminals. Mostly Black Canary but we do get to see Huntress having RAGE ISSUES.

You see, the joke is, Black Canary says Huntress has rage issues and Huntress denies it by shouting at her. It's very subtle.

Regardless of that cringe-inducing joke, the Birds of Prey Game Awards teaser was fine and does continue to titillate DC fans, along with those that enjoy comic book movies in general. We do hope that more definitive details are revealed soon but not to the point that we know the whole movie.

What we're saying is, don't spoil the third act guys.

Birds of Prey is scheduled for a February 7, 2020 release.
