Arnold Schwarzenegger is NOT Voicing the T-800 Terminator in Mortal Kombat 11

NetherRealm has just announced that they'll have the T-800 as a DLC character for Mortal Kombat 11, and though it has Arnold Schwarzenegger's face, someone else will be providing the voice.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, an inside source from NetherRealm has confirmed that the T-800 won't be voiced by Schwarznegger, but someone else who will just imitate his voice. While no reason has been given as to why Schwarzenegger isn't providing the voice, I can imagine that he's too busy working on Terminator: Dark Fate. Then again, I imagine it would just be cheaper to hire someone who sounds like him as compared to bringing Schwarzenegger in whenever they have some new lines to record.

The T-800 isn't the only pop culture character coming in the form of DLC either. The game is also set to have Spawn as a playable character next year, add to that we're also getting a playable Clown Prince of Crime a.k.a. the Joker. There have been data miners who have found that Ash from Evil Dead will be playable, but NetherRealm had decided not to include the character in the DLC announcement.

No doubt more characters will be added to the roster down the line, but it's pretty impressive that they managed to land Schwarzenegger. Then again, with Terminator: Dark Fate coming out, it would make sense for the game to do some cross-promotion. Even Gears of War5 is giving us a playable Sarah Connor.

Terminator: Dark Fate is set for a release on Nov. 1. The T-800 DLC comes to Mortal Kombat on Oct. 8. Mortal Kombat 11 is currently playable for Xbox One, PC, PS4, and Nintendo Switch.
