More The Walking Dead Cast Talks Intense and Chaotic Season Coming

Saying that the new season for The Walking Dead is a game changer may be the understatement of the year. We've been promised justification for that nasty cliffhanger on the season premiere, and the teaser of Negan is said to be the tip of a very badass iceberg coming to rip apart Rick and the gang's joyride on the Titanic.

While a lot of the cast and showrunners are giving hints as to how this could happen, two more of the mainstays give their two cents' on why the show will deliver on its promise.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Ross Marquand, who portrays Alexandria's Aaron, said that the premiere was the most emotional that he has shot as an episode. Since he is in Lucille's lineup, "emotional" may be the simplest definition.

According to Marquand, he had no idea who Negan's victim would be in the finale shot from last season. But he is quick to shoot down one of the nasty rumors connected to the cliffhanger.

"Most of us did not know. Because again, they wanted to play their cards very close to their chest. But towards the beginning of shooting this year, they told us… We've been really cognizant of the fans' emotions. And it's going to be an emotional episode. It's going to be a great episode, but it's going to be one that affects people in a very profound way."

Funnily enough, Marquand wasn't saved his share of being grilled even by his loved ones on whether he survives. But his main takeaway from the shoot is that it was as harrowing to do as what it will be for fans to watch.

Michael Cudlitz, who plays Abraham on The Walking Dead, also gave a few choice words to TV Guide on the coming season. While he is one of the theorized victims, Cudlitz did not give any hints, but instead, focused on what happens after the big first episode reveal is done.

"There's a whole bunch of other stuff that's gonna go down as the season progresses, and it's intense. I would say they shouldn't really be so much worried about the first episode as the rest of the season."

The Walking Dead will be back on AMC on Oct. 23.
