Michael Rooker Responds To Rumors Regarding Yondu’s Return In Avengers: Infinity War

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 may still have to hit cinemas in the US this Friday, however it seems like a lot of fans are already eager to know more about the cosmic misfit's appearance in the massive Marvel superhero mash-up, Avengers: Infinity War.

Though Chris Pratt did reveal earlier today that Star Lord and his band of thugs-turned-heroes would be keeping to the sidelines to let the Avengers keep to the spotlight in their own film, fans are still eager to learn whether Michael Rooker's Yondu would really be appearing in the movie.

The whistling master has long been rumored to appear in the movie after sharing photos of himself hanging out near the Atlanta set of Infinity War wearing the same Avengers beanie shared by the rest of the cast (the only difference being a poorly taped name).

However, when asked about the Avengers: Infinity War hat in an interview by Screen Crush, Rooker decides to play coy instead.

Here's the portion of the interview regarding the matter of the rumored Infinity War appearance:

ScreenCrush: I've seen on your Instagram account you sort of teasing; hanging around in Atlanta, wearing Avengers Infinity War hats and so on. Will we see Yondu again?
Rooker: What do you mean teasing?

Screen Crush: Well, you're wearing hats with names on them. You're covering the logo, but not very well.
Rooker: I know. It's fun stuff, isn't it? I don't know if that's true or real life, you know? I love hats and every now and then someone will come up to me and put a piece of tape over me. That's all I can say.

Screen Crush: Okay, so the answer is "I love hats"?
Rooker: I love hats.

While Rooker does make it sound like he's in the movie, there still the possibility that the Marvel star could be bluffing. Unlike Chris Pratt's Star Lord and the rest of the team, Yondu has yet to be confirmed for the movie. We'll just have to wait and see what happens next.

For now Rooker will be appearing in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 along with Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan and Kurt Russell. The film premieres stateside on May 5, 2017.
