Michael B. Jordan Addresses Superman Casting Rumors

It's a great honor to be considered for a role as iconic as Superman. Several actors would jump at the chance to play Clark Kent in a huge Hollywood blockbuster. However, Michael B. Jordan admits that he is wary of becoming the DC comic book superhero.

Jordan recently sat down with Oprah Winfrey and discussed rumors that he is being considered to replace Henry Cavill as Superman. Although the Black Panther star pointed out that "it's very flattering," he also admitted that he would rather play a character he could call his own.

"Just being under that microscope of being picked apart and compared to so many different versions of Superman, I would rather do something original," Jordan said.

Of course, there is a version of the Man of Steel that Jordan could easily portray. The Creed 2 actor also mentioned that he could be Calvin Ellis, the new Superman who also happens to be the President of the United States in Final Crisis #7. Jordan immediately stated that this could be a role he would be interested in.

"I think the comic book purists can accept that more than me being Clark Kent from Kansas," he said.

Although we would be happy to see Calvin finally make his big screen debut, it looks like Warner Bros. isn't quite ready to let go of the current Kal El. Several DC Extended Universe stars have pointed out that Cavill could still reprise his role as Clark Kent in future films. However, it might not be an actual Superman film.
