Marvel’s What If…?: Leaked Photos Tease Captain Britain, Steve Rogers’ Iron Man, and More

With Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse opening the way for comic book movie multiverses, Marvel is doing the same thing with their animated What If…? series. We don't have an official look at the series yet, but some photos (supposedly from D23) have found themselves online, and they give us more than just Peggy Carter's Captain Britain.

You can check the leaked photos out here.

As confirmed by reports, we have a look at a zombie Captain America, and, weirdly enough, T'Challa as Star-Lord. There's also a new image of the Winter Soldier complete with long hair, and what's more, there's also an image of Steve Rogers piloting what looks to be Howard Stark's version of the Iron Man armor.

The series is set to come out after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, so it's likely that film will set up this series complete with alternate timelines and realities. What's interesting is What If…? is said to be bringing all the original actors back to voice their roles, and each episode is said to be a different animation style as well.

This is just my personal opinion, but I always thought that Disney was skimping out on the animation, especially when it came to Star Wars series like Rebels and Resistance. With What If…?, I'm hoping they really tap into the artistic potential of animation and give us a really colorful look that's set apart from the films. I mean, if Sony can do it with Spider-Man, I'm sure Marvel can do it with their whole universe of characters.

Marvel's What If…? is set to come out in the summer of 2021. Disney+ launches on Nov. 12.
