Marvel’s Karen Gillan Wants To Become The DCEU’s Joker

It looks like Marvel star Karen Gillan wants to take a shot at becoming the DC Extended Universe's Joker.

Though Warner Bros. burgeoning superhero franchise already has Jared Leto as the Batman's nemesis, Comicbook reports that Gillan revealed which superhero character she'd be willing to play from a separate fandom in a panel at the Florida Supercon. To the surprise of many, the British actress chose one of the Batman's biggest adversary – The Joker.

"Oh, can I say something DC?" the actress asked during the panel " I'm going to say something DC, and I'm going to play the Joker. Maybe a female Joker."

Right after her declaration, a fan told Gillan that DC's 2011 Flashpoint event had a female Joker with Martha Kane (wife of Thomas Wayne and mother to Bruce Wayne) taking on the mantle in an alternate universe where Bruce was killed instead of his parents.

"This is my calling!" Gillan gushed right after. "Somebody make a call for me and let them know I'm available."

It's an interesting proposal. Though Warner Bros. still has Leto in mind for the DCEU with the studio planning the Harley Quinn Vs. The Joker movie with Margo Robbie as the method actor's co-star, there could be room for Gillan's Joker in the DCEU's Flashpoint movie which was announced during the San Diego Comic Con last month.

Gillan isn't a stranger to the comicbook genre, after all, she's played the Guardians of the Galaxy's Nebula. We're sure she'd make a good candidate for a Flashpoint Joker.
