Marvel Reportedly in Talks with Star Wars: The Mandalorian Director for New Project

It looks like Marvel might be thinking of recruiting a Star Wars director for a future project in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

According to a report by MCU Cosmic, Marvel is hoping to add Star Wars: The Mandalorian episode director Deborah Chow into its roster of filmmakers. Marvel Studios has reportedly spoken with Chow about multiple potential projects that it already has in the pipeline, though we're not entirely sure whether these projects are for Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe or for Phase 5 of the franchise.

This new report shouldn't come as a surprise, of course. Chow has done excellent work on The Mandalorian, and she's had experience working on Marvel projects. The filmmaker has directed episodes of Marvel Netflix series Jessica Jones and Iron Fist.

While it seems like Marvel is tapping Chow for a project bigger than a Marvel Netflix series, it helps that the director's had experience on these shows.

Right now there are multiple Marvel projects without a director attached, that includes Captain Marvel sequel which is set to release in 2022. Then again, Marvel may want to have Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden return to take on the project.

Another Phase 5 Marvel movie without any director attached is the MCU's Blade reboot starring two-time Oscar winter Mahershala Ali. Of course, there are the unannounced projects that Marvel has planned for Phase 5 of the MCU, projects that Marvel fans are hoping to introduce the X-Men and the Fantastic Four into the franchise.

Let's cross our fingers and wait and see what Marvel has planned.
