Marvel Legacy: First 'Phoenix Resurrection' Image Revealed

December is a big month for X-Men fans since it's when we will see Phoenix Resurrection: The Return of Jean Grey hit comic book shelves. This version of the character hasn't been seen in more than a decade, after being killed by a Magneto imposter back in Grant Morrison's New X-Men run. Now that fans know the X-Man will be coming back, Marvel has revealed the first official image from artist Leinil Francis Yu.

The image seen below is going to be the cover for Marvel's December Previews, which will be shown next week. We see a slight change in the title since it's now called The Return of (Adult) Jean Grey. We see the members of X-Men: Gold - Kitty Pryde, Old Man Logan, Colossus, Storm and Nightcrawler, as well as Uncanny Avenger Rogue, who hasn't been seen in an X-Men title for some time.

How (adult) Jean comes back remains a mystery, but it seems like she will be the big return in next week's Marvel Legacy. Teases of the Phoenix have been prevalent recently, with a Phoenix user being in the 1,000,000 BC Avengers and the Generations: Thor one-shot revealing that Odin was romantically linked to the cosmic entity. Young Jean has also been preparing for the Phoenix's return in her ongoing series, which could end up being important reading ahead of Legacy.

Phoenix Resurrection: The Return of Jean Grey #1 will be available sometime in December. The 50-page one-shot Marvel Legacy #1 comes out next week.
