Peter Parker was depressed following his wife, Mary Jane's death. He then took on a career outside of New York and leaves his son, Ben Parker, under Aunt May's care. This is where the story of a new Spider-Man starts.

When Ben became a teenager, he is shocked upon his discovery of spider-like abilities, which was shown when he took down a bully in school.

Ben meets Faye Ito when he got into detention. Faye got fond of him because she witnessed how he was able to beat the bully. After school, Faye decided to stop by Aunt Mary's house to talk to Ben. She went there wearing a cat-themed costume, which is similar to that of the Black Cat.

Faye refers to herself as the Marker, she's wearing a black suit, along with some goggles and a nose-mouth mask. She tells Ben to wear a costume too but he already burned one of his father's suits. Luckily enough, Aunt Mary brought out some other Spider-Man costumes.

Faye is a local graffiti artist which explains why she calls herself the Marker. Her targets are storefronts with poor business practices. When Ben and Faye did a graffiti on another store, Faye went on to say a speech that is a contrast to that of Spider-Man's (via CBR).

"You don't have great responsibility because you have great power… your hero got it the other way around!" Faye exclaims. "It's up to us because we all have a great responsibility. Each of us." She adds that the reason we're powerful is that we have a responsibility. And that a suit suggests that anyone could be a hero.

Police showed up and tried to catch the two but they were cornered. Ben decided to use his web-shooters to go up and escape the police. At this point, Ben was comfortable enough to reveal that Spider-Man was his father, which Faye handled pretty well.

A villain will be appearing and it'll be up to Spider-Man to beat it. The issue will also touch upon the story of how Ben is confident enough to pursue being a hero, despite what the "older Parkers" have to say.
