Mark Millar Is Not Pleased With The Disney/Fox Acquisition

A lot of comic book fans are happy to hear about the X-Men and Fantastic Four coming home to Marvel Studios with the Disney/Fox acquisition. You know who's not happy, though? Comic writer Mark Millar.

After news broke out that Fox and Disney are finalizing their deal, Millar had some tweets to say about the acquisition affecting the creativity coming to the Fox universe:

The issue of losing "beautiful gambles" could truly be a concern when it comes to these giant studios. Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were fired from making the Han Solo movie their way, and so was Edgar Wright with his Ant-Man film. Bob Iger, however, is open to making more R-rated Marvel films, so maybe the creatives will still have their freedom. Only time will tell.

Millar's concern is also the problem that the franchises will face once more characters are introduced:

Though I think that the MCU is already packed with characters, I think that it's only a matter of creative writing that will successfully bring characters together in a movie. All these characters come together in the comics all the time. I guess fans will just have to understand that you can't expect character development from every single one of them.

For now, I'm just waiting for an actual announcement from Marvel Studios that the characters are crossing over. I wouldn't want all of this "celebration" of the X-Men and Fantastic Four coming home to be premature.
