Marisa Tomei Shares A Spider-Man: Homecoming Scene That She Wishes Didn't Get Cut

It's only natural that Peter Parker wanted to keep his Spider-Man-ing a secret from his Aunt May since she would immediately make him quit doing it if she found out, but as it turns out, there's actually a pretty cool deleted scene with May in Spider-Man: Homecoming that further explains why Peter refused to tell her his secret from the get-go.

Talking to the Huffington Post, Marisa Tomei reveals:

"There was something going on in the neighborhood, and there was a little girl in distress, and I saved her, and Peter saw me save her, so you kind of saw that he got part of his ethics from her … Then I come home, and I don't even tell him that that's what happened, and, of course, there's all this stuff that he's not telling me. So he's like, ‘How was your day?' And I'm like, ‘It was fine,' but really I was shaking inside because of this whole crisis that had happened in the city. I'm kind of fibbing to him, and he's fibbing to me, and we're living in this house together, and it was a very interesting setup. I was quite disappointed that wasn't in there."

It's kind of cool how much characterization came into making this new Aunt May besides her being a frail old lady. Besides the fact that she's overprotective of Peter since he's her only family left, she's actually kind of a "cool" aunt, and it's fun to watch everyone else onscreen hit on her, including Tony Stark.

With the ending of Spider-Man: Homecoming, you bet that Marvel wants to take May to a different direction that we haven't seen before. Well whatever it is, I'm definitely all in.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is currently in theaters.
