We've been hearing a lot of buzz about the actors who could possibly play Cable in Deadpool 2. 20th Century Fox hasn't made any official announcements regarding that yet but it looks like a shortlist hasn't already been made for the role, and according to The Hollywood Reporter, the Man of Steel villain Michael Shannon is the frontrunner for Cable.
However, it seems that the studio hasn't made a final decision as there are also other actors reported to be in the list, including Stranger Things actor David Harbour.
The X-Men character that Shannon could potentially play is a time-travelling mutant co-created by Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld and writer Louise Simonson.
David Leitch is directing Deadpool 2, and Ryan Reynolds is reprising his iconic role.
Atlanta star Zazie Beetz has already been cast to play the super-powered merc named Domino.
Shannon, who's known for playing Zod in Man of Steel, was nominated at the Oscars for his work on Noctorunal Animals.
Deadpool 2 is expected to start production in Vancouver later this year, and the movie is expected to release in theaters next year.
